Art Showcase

2017 Art Showcase Banner

Displaying student artwork throughout the Frederick County Public Schools Administration Building has been a tradition for nearly three decades. For visitors as well as those of us who come to work in these offices each day, works of student art serve as a reminder that Frederick County Public Schools is focused first and foremost on our students. It also clearly demonstrates our commitment to, and respect for, the arts as an integral part of student learning. View art from the 2017 showcase.

To view the artwork on display at this year's Art Showcase, use the links below.
I invite you to walk around on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from 6:30–7:30 p.m., and admire the work of our very talented student artists. We are happy to be able to display the fine creations of these students for our community to enjoy!

Assistant Superintendent for Instruction

Virginia School Boards Association

VSBA logoEach year, the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) solicits artwork from schools across the Commonwealth for participation in its spring art contest. Art teachers from all Frederick County Public Schools submit one piece of student art for the contest, and then vote to select three winners that are sent to the regional VSBA contest. The three pieces of artwork on display at our reception are the three pieces sent for the contest this year. Congratulations!

Several individuals are especially appreciated in making this display a reality. Ms. Patience Shirk and Mr. Mike Paschke, art teachers at James Wood Middle School, matted and framed the artwork. Members of the instructional staff, including Ms. Vivian Simon, Mrs. Jeanne Dike, and Mrs. Nancy C. VanGorden provided the coordination of artwork displays, reception program, and the reception.
